The novel Bhima Bhuyan was published by Cuttack Edward Press in 1908. Its author, Gopalballabh Das, was one of Odisha’s gifted children. Gopalballabh was born in 1860 in Sathavamapur village of Salepur police station in Cuttack district. He eventually worked as Personal Assistant to the Commissioner of Odisha and Assistant Superintendent of Gadjat for a few days.
