    Madhusudana Pati wrote the 1985 biographical novel “Bhaktakabi Madhusudan Rao: Byaktitwa O Kabitwa” in the Odia language.Popular Odia author and poet Madhusudan Rao was known as Bhaktakabi. He is regarded as the founder of contemporary Odia poetry. His most significant literary contribution to Odia is Prabandhamala. This book, which was initially published in 1880, is regarded as the first collection of essays in Odia. He began his writing career as an essayist before moving on to write poetry and fiction. He translated a few works into the Odia language, with particular attention being paid to Uttararamacarita, a Sanskrit play in seven acts written in the Nataka style by Bhavabhuti. In the 1870s, he and Radhanath Ray collaborated to produce two volumes of the poetry anthology Kabitabali.
