In Odiya literature, Faturananda was a funny and satirical author. His work as a short story author is most known. He wrote under the pseudonym “Phaturananda” in all of his works. He goes by Ramachandra Mishra in real life. Among his literal works, Nakata Chitrakar and Sahi Mahabharat are the most well-known. He created the “kantakabi Prize” in Laxmikanta Mohapatra’s honour to encourage writers who write in the Odia language. He was also the creator of the actual organisation known as Sarasa Sahitya Samiti. In 1989, he released Mo Phuta Dangara Kahani, his autobiography. He has written plays, poems, children’s books, translations, novels, and short tales.
