Nabarabi started publication in July 1970 and continued till 1976 December.The chief patron of Nabarabi was Patiram Parija who wanted to see a high quality Odia magazine like the popular ‘Desh’ in Bengali. He made provision for emoluments for the writers. His son – Rabindra Kumar Jena – edited the magazine which was printed at the press owned by noted the novelist Kanduri Charan Das.
