Odia is edited by Dwaraknath Das this weekly was launched in 1887 and saw independent existence for only three months. It then merged with Navasambad and continued publication as ‘Oria & Navasambad’.It carried news under headings like regional, national and forign. Thought provoking articles it carried were particularly noteworthy. In this it lived upto the promise made to the readers.
