He was born in Odisha’s Khandapada, in the Nayagarh district.He left his position as Samanta Chandra Sekhara College, Puri, principal. He is one of Aama Odisha’s founding members.Jitendra Narayan Dash, also known as Jita by his elders but better known as Dash Benhur, goes by the pen name of Dash Benhur. After seeing the critically acclaimed 1959 picture Ben Hur, which won eleven Oscars, he decided to use a pseudonym.
