The hope that the Sun will rise again fills the heavens as it sets. But when its light, like a lamp, goes out, a pitch-black darkness falls and envelops everyone. Night and day become one black period. The Sun isn’t missing anymore; in fact, in this dark region, this sphere of light does not exist at all and never did.
For me, during the time I was working on the translation, the characters in the stories ended up being members of an extended family. Many of the characters still make occasional appearances, in a sense. After the work was finished, there was a note of regret combined with a sigh of relief. Again going through the same thing wouldn’t bother me.
