Dharmapurana is a prominent Odia religious text written by the revered poet and scholar Dinakrushna Das. The book, which was first published in 1898, is an extensive account of Hindu mythology and theology, with a special emphasis on the worship of Lord Jagannath.

The Dharmapurana is divided into four sections or khandas. The first khanda provides a detailed description of the creation of the universe, while the second khanda deals with the various incarnations of Lord Vishnu. The third khanda focuses on the life and teachings of Lord Krishna, and the fourth khanda contains the rituals and customs associated with the worship of Lord Jagannath.

The book also includes several stories and legends from Hindu mythology, such as the story of Prahlad and Hiranyakashipu, the churning of the ocean of milk, and the tale of the birth of Lord Ganesha.

In addition to its religious significance, the Dharmapurana is also valued for its literary merit. Dinakrushna Das’ writing is known for its beautiful language and vivid descriptions, which transport the reader to another world.

Overall, the Dharmapurana is an important and influential work that has played a significant role in shaping the spiritual and cultural fabric of Odisha.
