Udayanath Sarangi was born in a low-income household in the Cuttack district village of Sippi in 1905. He was an established journalist and writer who made contributions to various forms of Odia literature, with his work in translation and children’s literature standing out as his most notable accomplishments. He joined the non-cooperation movement as soon as he started attending the rural school.
Since then, he has been deeply moved by Gandhiji’s principles.
