An Indian writer of Odia, Chandrasekhar Rath. He was nominated for a Padma Shri in 2018, but he was unable to accept it because of his passing. Rath was from the Balangir district’s Malpada village. His education ended at Rajendra College. From Canning College, University of Lucknow, he received his postgraduate degree in English.

Before retiring as the Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DPI) in 1987, Rath began working for the Odisha Education Service in 1952 as an English lecturer and also held the position of Secretary of the Test Book Bureau. He has authored three novels, 14 short story collections, 15 essay books, and devotional writings.
