On June 1, 1915, Ramachandra Mishra was born in Jhanjirimangala, Cuttack, Odisha, British India. His parents were Bidyadhar and Subhadra Mishra. He provided a variety of literal works to Odia literature, but his short stories are his most well-known works. Prior to switching to a satirical writing style, the majority of his short works were initially sorrowful in nature.

As “Dagaro” from Cuttack was published, he began to notice humorous stories in it. Yet he came to the realisation that most of them have essentially the same plots, with a few minor variations in presentation, and almost always have happy endings. The majority of them focused on the romance between a college girl and a boy, around whom the entire narrative was based. Therefore he made the decision to compose comedies without ever including romance in the story. He adhered to the rule all the way through.
