Jatiraj and Rukmini gave birth to Sudarshan Acharya in Jarada, in the Ganjam district, on January 28, 1939, and he passed away on December 1, 2022. Sanskrit was the first subject he studied at home. He completed his official schooling at Ravenshaw College, Khalikote College, and Nuapada High School before earning a postgraduate degree. He started out as a teacher in Andhra Pradesh’s Srikakulam before moving on to Khalikot College and Brahmapur University. After a lengthy career in Odia literature, he left the university in 1999. His work comprised gathering a variety of rare manuscripts and printed works, which he then edited and annotated.
