Gouranga Charan Das was a leader of the socialist Kissan Movement and Gadajat Praja Andolon in Odisha as well as a freedom fighter who admired Gandhi.On January 26, 1899, Gouranga Charan Das was born in Bagalpur in British India’s Cuttack district. His right hand was severely disabled from birth, which left him with physical impairments. When he was still a young man, Mahatma Gandhi’s call for joining the Freedom Movement served as inspiration. Due to his involvement in the struggle for independence, he was frequently imprisoned.
