The oldest and most significant of the 18 main Puranas is the Vishnu Purana. The Vishnu Purana is very unique and different from the other Puranas. The Vedas are the core and founding texts of Hinduism. Vedas also come to a conclusion in the Upanishads. Well, the Bhagavad Gita contains the essence of the Upanishads. Regarding Puranas, it denotes the earliest (or the ancient). The Puranas’ greatest strength is their comprehensive treatment of all facets of life. The geography, astrology, rituals, dynasties, and other events, such as the life and personality of Lord Vishnu, are all included in the puranas.
One of the eighteen Mahapuranas, the ancient Hindu literature, is the Vishnu Purana. In Vaishnavism, it is a pivotal Pancharatra scripture. The Vishnu Purana displays its content in a Pancalaksana design more than any other notable Purana, including Sarga (cosmogony),Pratisarga (cosmology), Vama (ancestry of the holy beings, sages, and lords), Manvantara, and Vamnucaritam (legends during the times of different rulers).
