In Oriya literature, Gopinath Mohanty is regarded as a versatile author. At the Cuttack district’s Nagbali village, he was born on April 20, 1914. Along with being an energetic administrator, he has made a name for himself in a number of literary endeavours, including novels, stories, and essays. With his book “Amrutara Santan,” he won the Kendra Sahitya Akademi Prize in 1955. With the book “Matimatala,” he received the “Jnanapitha Prize,” and in 1981, he also received the “Padma Bhusan.”
