While books are being published in many different regional languages in India at a rapid rate today, it is commonly agreed that an accurate catalogue of these publications is critically important. The central government chose to create a number of volumes of this bibliography with the assistance of a number of state governments because numerous libraries, schools, universities, and individuals refused to be able to acquire it. The National Bibliography was released under the titles Orissa Section 1960 and 1961 in the months of 1960 and 1962, respectively.
