While the publication of books in various regional languages in India today is at a rapid pace, it is widely acknowledged that an authoritative catalog of these publications is absolutely necessary. As various libraries, schools, colleges and individuals refused to be able to purchase it, the central government decided to publish various volumes of this bibliography with the help of various state governments. The National Bibliography was published in the months of 1960 and 1962 respectively under the titles of Orissa Section 1960 and 1961.
