He has travelled extensively in India and abroad and participated m many major Iterary seminars and conferences, presiding over more than half a dozen of them. He represented india in the Intemational Wniters’ Week at Adelante, Austraka in 1980. He has published nine collections of stories which include Death of an Indian and other stories (New Delhi, 1984) Having retired from the Indian Audit and Accounts Service which he joined in 1950, Das. hives with his wife in Cuttack.
